Last Friday, CSPAN2's Book TV bus arrived in Bloomington. Because the weather was beautiful that day, I combined work and pleasure by bringing my daughter along for the walk to campus where the bus was parked. I felt a little out of place among the students, though, who were carrying backpacks, while I was toting a diaper bag. However, it was to my advantage that I took along the baby and her gear because as I was looking for a stroller-friendly path toward the bus, I came upon the location where James Madison was being interviewed by Book TV and had the chance to snap a picture.
After the Madison interview was over, I headed toward the bus where Jennifer Meta Robinson was inside discussing The Farmers' Market Book. When her interview was finished, CSPAN opened the bus for tours of the inside of it. The bus is outfitted with a mobile television production studio and media demonstration center on board, which is quite impressive. I was also impressed by the t-shirt that the CSPAN crew gave me while I was on the bus. Can you believe that a full-sized t-shirt could fit into this little package?
All in all, it turned out to be a great event! You can view the rest of my Book TV pictures on Photobucket.
