AAUP selects Making Music and Having a Blast for "Best of the Best" program

We are pleased to announce that Making Music and Having a Blast was selected by the Association of American University Presses (AAUP) for its Best of the Best from the University Presses program, which is presented annually at the American Library Association's conference. Hoosier Cabinet author writes piece for American Bungalow magazine

Nancy Hiller, author of The Hoosier Cabinet in Kitchen History, wrote a piece on furniture manufacturer Harris Lebus for the summer issue of American Bungalow. You can read the article online here.

Nancy Hiller is a cabinetmaker who has published in numerous period design and woodworking magazines, including American Bungalow, Old House Interiors, and Fine Woodworking. Since 1995, Hiller has operated and been principal designer at NR Hiller Design, Inc.

Author event: Bonnie Blanchard at the Washington State Music Teachers Association Conference

Bonnie Blanchard holds music and teaching degrees from the University of Washington. She has long been respected in the Pacific Northwest as a versatile freelance musician, yet she is best known as a dynamic instructor with unique teaching techniques that create skilled musicians with a lifelong love of music. She is the author of two IU Press books, Making Music and Having a Blast! and Making Music and Enriching Lives.

Author event: Scott Russell Sanders to speak at Monroe County Library

Scott Russell Sanders will be the guest speaker at the Friends of the Monroe County Library's annual meeting, which takes place June 23 at 5:45 p.m. in library meeting room 1-B. The title of Sanders's talk is "Nourished by Books." The meeting is free and open to the public. For more information, visit the library's website.

Scott Russell Sanders is the author of 20 books of fiction and nonfiction, his most recent being A Conservationist Manifesto. He is the winner of several awards, including the Lannan Literary Award, John Burroughs Essay Award for Natural History, AWP Award in Creative Nonfiction, and the 2009 Mark Twain Award.
