Editor's note: Once again, we are celebrating Intern Appreciation Week—the holiday we unofficially created last semester! During this week, we will feature profiles of our fabulous spring semester interns, who make our work lives easier by volunteering their time and talents to us. Today's blog is about Jennifer Frigge (written by another great intern, Michelle Sybert, who will be profiled tomorrow). Jennifer has been with us since last year, and we'll miss her when she graduates this May!
If you’re a frequent reader of our blog, you have probably read at least a few of Jennifer’s posts. Jennifer has been interning with IU Press since last spring and spends most of her time at the Press writing blog posts, bringing you the latest news on author events, interviews, book reviews, and book awards. She also helps to put together press releases and researches new outlets for upcoming book adoptions.
Jennifer is a senior at Indiana University majoring in Marketing and International Business with a minor in Spanish. She is a member of Alpha Omicron Pi Sorority, and is the Digital Media Co-Director of Women in Business, a club in the Kelley School of Business. She also works at the Career Services Office at the Kelley School. This past summer, Jennifer had an internship at Kohl’s Corporate in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. She really enjoyed working in retail and in Milwaukee, and thought it was a great experience.
As a freshman, Jennifer nearly became a journalism minor because she was really interested in publishing, but the minor didn’t fit into her course load. Because publishing combines her love of reading with her studies in school, she still hopes to work in publishing at some point in her career. She chose to intern with us in order to gain some experience with publishing before venturing into the work force. Jennifer describes her time here at the Press as “always exciting and new,” and loves learning more about publishing every day.
Jennifer has obviously been keeping herself pretty busy, but she also enjoys reading and blogging in her free time. She also follows fashion sites and blogs and gets easily addicted to television shows. She is also interested in traveling and hopes to travel more in the future. In the meantime, she’ll be bringing you new and interesting blogs, so keep your eyes peeled for Jennifer’s posts!
