Editor's note: This is the final installment in our Intern Appreciation Week series.
Paige Henry is a senior majoring in Comparative Literature with minors in Creative Writing, Spanish, and Religious Studies.
Describe your position at IU Press.
I do social media work with the blog and text promotion, [which includes] sending emails to various professors about new books that they might want to adopt for courses that they teach. I've also written press releases and helped add materials to an author's website.
Are you involved in any other organizations on campus?
I wrote for the IDS last year as an opinion columnist.
Why did you decide to intern with IU Press?
I wanted to get real-world experience in the editing and publishing world after I took a class on publishing last fall.
What are your future career goals/path?
I can definitely see myself working at a publishing company in the future. I think I'd also enjoy doing freelance writing or video production.
What are some of your other hobbies?
I like to cook dinner in my wok, attend showings at the IU Cinema, and read.
