The launch event for Norbert Krapf's new poetry collection Songs in Sepia and Black and White will take place September 7 as part of the First Friday Open Galleries event at Indiana Landmarks.
There will be a photo exhibit reception from 6 to 8 p.m. in the Indiana Landmarks Gallery, where Richard Fields's photographs from the book will be on display.
Then from 8:30 to 10 p.m. Krapf will perform jazz poems with pianist Monika Herzig, another IU Press author, and blues poems with bluesman Gordon Bonham. Krapf will be reading from his new book's third section, "Practically with the Band."
Cabaret-style seating will be available for $7 admission at the door. Books will also be available for purchase upstairs during the readings. For more information, visit the Indiana Landmarks website.
