Eric Dienstfrey's "The Myth of Speakers: A Critical Reexamination of Dolby History,” (Film History 28.1) has won this year's Katherine Singer Kovács Essay Award from the Society for Cinema and Media Studies – the premiere international scholarly organization in cinema and media studies.
