A message from IU Press director Gary Dunham:
Nowadays, it seems, more than ever, we need to learn more about each other. That eye-opening and sometimes humbling journey outside ourselves—beyond our backgrounds, histories, beliefs, and languages—often begins by picking up a newspaper or book. Reading raises awareness and brings understanding; understanding ushers in tolerance and respect.
As a publisher, Indiana University Press helps connect people to one another. Our books and journals do not only contain the results of excellent academic research; they are also windows to other communities, worlds, and religions. And that includes Muslims.
As one of the largest North American publishers on Muslims, Indiana University Press is proud to offer a broad range of books and journals that illuminate their rich history, beliefs, past and present challenges, and multitude of accomplishments and contributions. In a time when misunderstandings fuel a plethora of headlines, we encourage all of you to learn more about the 1.6 billion people who practice this worldwide faith.
Let’s help get you started. Each week, we will be offering a select number of our Muslim-related books at the steeply discounted price of only $1.99. Drop a buck and some change on the counter, grab one of our books, and enjoy your visit with others who share our planet and our time.
We're proud to announce the following titles will be on sale until March 4. Click each link for a list of retailers offering the discounted price:
Muslim Americans in the Military - Amazon -- Barnes & Noble
Jihad and the West - Barnes & Noble
Islamophobia/Islamophilia - Barnes & Noble
Santa Claus in Baghdad - Amazon -- Barnes & Noble
Muslims in Western Politics - Barnes & Noble
I clicked the links on each book for Amazon. It showed only one (the first) with $1.99 ebook cost. I have no idea why or why not. The second according to Amazon has no ebook available.

I checked your pages (again) and saw these prices for the ebooks - I think something has glitched.
Jihad - $21.99
Islamaphobia - $21.99
Santa Clause - $12.99
Muslims - $21.20.
I would have purchased a couple at the originally quoted price of $1.99

Same issue. Amazon did not have the lower price on the "Jihad..." book and did not have an e-book on "Islamaphobia...".
Many thanks for making this educational material broadly available.
If possible please notify me when the pricing has been updated.

Hello again Joyce,
We’re told the prices should update on Amazon tomorrow. In the meantime, we have new links available to other sources on this blog post.

I note you are supplying some books to Barnes and Noble - rather than Amazon - at the $1.99 price. I don't have a nook. I can't use Barnes and Noble.
Thanks.

Hi again Joyce,
Unfortunately, we're at the mercy of our inventory management on the Amazon prices. I can tell you that we're expecting to have these books available on Amazon at some point, but we don't know for sure exactly when that will be. We were hoping that Amazon would have updated the prices this morning, but that apparently is not the case.
If you're hoping to buy a book via Barnes & Noble, the Nook app is available on iOS and Android devices. You don't necessarily need to have a Nook device to purchase those books.
