Did you know a third of the journals IU Press publishes are open access?
Defined as digital, online, free of charge, and free of most copyright and licensing restrictions, Open Access (OA) allows scholarship to happen anywhere at any time for anyone. As the global social economy grows, we look to Open Access as the way for people at any scholarly level to feel that they can be a part of the conversation.
OA also can be a crucial lifeline for supporting academics in early and challenging points in their careers.
– Gary Dunham, IU Press Director
Through the Office of Scholarly Publishing, we have been able to offer OA journals based at Indiana University assistance with production, copyediting, indexing, and marketing. This allows our OA journals to achieve the same level of excellence as traditional print journals.
In celebration of Open Access Week, we invite you to explore our ever-growing list of Open Access journals.
